Design Features
The design features incorporated into our product reflect our commitment to overall product quality that begins at the initial design phase. Each submersible pump is the sum of its parts and therefore each component should not only be designed to perform its intended function but must form a synergy with the balance of the assembly to create a product that will provide years of reliable service with a minimum of relative operating and maintenance costs for a given duty.
- Vented Pump Casing
- Parent Metal Thread and Keyway Connections
- High Chrome or CD4MCu Strainer
- Parts Interchangeability
- Modular Wet End
Modular Wet End
The Polaris pump line-up utilizes a modular wet-end platform approach with common wet end components for a given pump size. The final configuration to a plain open suction Model PHO, mixer Model PBO or shredder Model PVO type pump is accomplished by adding kit components that are interchangeable and can be added or changed in the field with a few common hand tools. These wet end platforms can be combined with our wide range of motors and slurry seals, starting with our continuous run dry capable internal slurry seal, to configure a submersible pump package that can handle the most severe duties in applications across a broad spectrum of industries.

- Hydraulic Range/Coverage
Hydraulic Range/Coverage
The hydraulic range of our current standard submersible pump line is divided into low head LH and medium head MH pump designs. Our design philosophy is to engineer hydraulics for any given pump size that maximize wet end parts wear life without compromising overall efficiency. We use the same approach when designing custom, application specific wet ends for pumps that fall outside of our standard product range. Doing so will always ensure that we can minimize the required submersible motor size for any given application when compared to other manufacturers. Our customers know, and we agree, that what makes a submersible pump severe duty capable has nothing to do with shear physical weight. The benefits of our designs to the end user, apart from the long term operating and maintenance cost savings, include minimal electrical, mechanical and structural installation requirements, greater portability and reduced space requirements that add up to increased safety for operating and maintenance personnel.
